Legal responsibilities and freedoms based on age

École en réseau is collaborating with Éducaloi on a series of activities to inform participating Elementary 5 and 6 and Secondary 1 and 2 students and their teachers on the legal responsibilities and freedoms of young people as they age.

Plan:
Before the preparatory meeting, please take a moment to read the Teacher's Guide and the PowerPoint presentation.
Through this series of activities, students will learn about the rights and responsibilities they gain as they get older Participating classes will meet three times with an Éducaloi legal expert who will raise their awareness of these issues and answer their questions. Before each meeting, they will complete preparatory activities and discuss various examples of legal scenarios in class. Students’ reactions and questions will be posted on the project’s Padlet wall (26^th April). 

For legal reasons, meetings with all classes will not be recorded.

If you’d like to take part in the activity but the video call dates don’t work for you, please note that teachers can present all the content by themselves. Students will still be able to enter their questions on the Padlet wall. A PowerPoint presentation with the answers to all questions submitted by April 26 will be sent to teachers by email.

 A few notes:

• The video calls will be conducted using Teams;
• A Padlet wall will be used to record students’ questions and reactions to the examples;
• Participating classes will receive a connection link the day before the activity. No other confirmation email will be sent;
• The pedagogical and technological helpdesk is open if you need to do technical tests;
• Registrations close on March 28, 2024.
